Archbishop James Ussher (1581-1656) is now known, almost exclusively, for his dating the creation to 4004 BC. But far from being an obscurantist, he was a model scholar of his time – and in this video his wider range of work as a theologian is explored by Prof. Alan Ford who is the author of James Ussher: Theology, History, and Politics in Early-Modern Ireland and England (Oxford 2007).
